When is the best time to involve Home Build Ally?

The earlier in your build journey, the better. The ideal time is after you've chosen your builder and are about to receive, or have just received, the tender documents (such as quotation, site plan, and floor plans).

This is the stage where decisions have the biggest impact on cost, layout, and future variations - and where independent guidance can add the most value.

That said, Home Build Ally can also support you at later stages, including selections support and post-selections review, if you're already further along.

Are you independent from builders?

Yes. I am not affiliated with any builder, supplier, or developer. All advice is independent and focused solely on helping you understand your documents and make informed decisions.

Do you replace my builder, designer, or building inspector?

No. I don’t replace your builder or any required professionals. Home Build Ally provides independent guidance to help you understand what’s being presented and ask your builder the right questions before committing.

What documents do you review?

Depending on the service, this may include:

• Floor plans and elevations
 • Site plan
 • Tenders and inclusions schedule
 • Allowances and site costs
 • Post-selection updates (updated tender and/or plans)

Once your request is received, I'll confirm exactly what's needed before work begins.

Is there a page limit for reviews?

Yes. The Plan & Tender Review includes up to approximately 60 pages combined.
If your documents exceed this, scope and next steps are confirmed before proceeding.

Question 7

Do you provide legal or engineering advice?

Accepted Answer

No. I don’t provide legal, structural, or engineering advice and certification. My role is to highlight risks, unclear inclusions, and decision points so you can seek clarification or professional advice where required.

Do you speak to or negotiate with my builder on my behalf?

No. I don't contact builders, negotiate prices, or act as an intermediary.

My role is to review documents independently, explain what's being presented, and help you understand where clarification or follow-up is needed. This allows you to approach your builder confidently, ask the right questions, and make informed decisions - while keeping all communication directly between you and the builder.

Can you attend my builder selection appointment with me?

Attendance at builder selection appointments is not included in the standard Selections Support service.

In some cases, in-person attendance may be arranged if required, subject to availability and scope. This is assessed individually and quoted separately.

If you believe in-person support may be helpful, you can note this in your request or raise it during your consultation.

How does the booking process work?

The process is:

1. You request a service through the Contact page
2. You complete a short questionnaire and receive a secure document upload link
3. You upload your plans, tender, or relevant documents
4. I complete a quick scope check and confirm what's included and timing
5. An invoice is issued
6. Work begins once payment is received

This ensures the service matches your stage and documents.

Do I need to upload documents?

Yes. All services require some level of preparation.
After you submit your booking request, you'll receive a short questionnaire, and a secure upload link so I know exactly what you look for.

Can I request an in-person session instead of video?

Accepted Answer

Sessions are held via Google Meet by default.
If you prefer an in-person session, you can note this in your request, and I’ll confirm availability and pricing.

How do payments work?

After your booking request is received, I'll confirm the scope and send an invoice by email.
Payment is made via bank transfer (PayID or BSB/Account No.). Work begins once payment is received.

Can I pay in stages?

Stage payments apply to the Premium Package only.
Invoices are issued before each stage begins.

Because services involve preparation and document review, refunds are assessed case by case.
